Somewhere between 25 - 35p per mile for my 350z depending on whether I've managed to do any motorway driving.

If it's just fuel cost and not maintenance, insurance and depreciation the cost per mile is just another way of expressing how many MPG you get.

Average 43mpg. Highest average seen (over 2 miles) 72mpg. Lowest average 35mpg. (Multipla diesel)

Cost range (@£1.40/litre) 8.8ppm to 18.2ppm. Average 14.8ppm.

In my humble opinion, the figures are much more sobering if you include depreciation and servicing.

My Alfa 156 was bought secondhand for £11k, and 110,000 miles later I got £1k trade-in for it. That's 9ppm just in depreciation. The 72k service alone, spread over the total miles I did in the car was nearly a penny per mile. So one service (of many) plus the depreciation comes to 10ppm, which at the time was how much it cost me in diesel.

Of course the other advantage of looking at pence per mile including all costs is that the best way to lower the value, should you wish to, is to get out and drive.

Maserati 4200 - about 35p/40p a mile in petrol and so far about 60p again per mile in servicing insurance etc.

Good job I don't think about these numbers otherwise I would just look at it and not drive it.

I do about 3000 miles a year in mine. So including insurance, tax, maintenance and fuel, nearly £2 per mile.

Hmm.

That's silly. Then it would cost you an infinite amount per mile...... divide by zero, aaaargh!

Very good point - it would be an expensive garden ornament.

You should go out for a drive right now. The more you drive it, the more your average cost/mile comes down smile

50p/m for the Elise. Mostly because I only cover 3-4000 miles a year.

ETA: Oops, just fuel costs? 13p on average, since I've had it; about 16p at current prices. Just fuel is a rather meaningless figure, though.
