Tanner Foust was certainly impressed by the 480hp version's off road prowess on Topgear USA.
I'm watching that as we speak...hence the random google and this thread
It had proper FOX shocks with 12" suspension travel and looked to be a credible off-road (baja) type of thing...imagine the fun to be had in that!
I'd have one
Taken from the article:
"A two door truck with 810 American stallions under the hood and 745 lb-ft of torque."
"The VelociRaptor 800 has more horsepower than the Switzer Performance P800, a Nissan GT-R with 800hp."
No s
t Sherlock, in fact it has more horsepower than anything with less than 810bhp!

I was in the market for one of these. It is limited to 100mph though because of the tyres. What the point of all that power is I don't know! Change the tyres I hear you say! What off road tyres that fit can be rated at higher speeds and still retain off road abilities? Also you would need to pay for the limiter removing.

I very, very much suspect that its all about the acceleration and in-gear oomph rather than flat-out speed. Especially when using it properly on rough dirt tracks/forest trails etc. Have you ever seen a Baja race of the type that this truck is inspired by?However, should you for some weird reason wish to max the truck on a track whilst still wearing off road tyres (instead of doing the sensible thing and changing them for sticky tarmac tyres), then the new General Grabber AT is available in many sizes and H rated (130mph) so would give a decent increase
