Total "Excellium"
Discussion
My car mostly drinks shell 99 or waitrose 98 (bp super apparently?) as they are always the cheapest and most convenient for me.
now the local frenchie has undercut them and they are selling their super "excellium" for a smidge less. If anyone has compared it in a car where it matters i would like to hear from you.
Ps: i don't want to get into the whole "what's the point of superunleaded" debate.

The question is does your car need 99. Most engines have a knock sensor whih pulls the timing when it detects knock. If it doesn't knock on 99 you still get full power. I always use Total in my supercharged Mustang and have never had any issue. The TOTAL garage is local and convenient and has no queue unlike most Tesco forecourts, no Shell within miles and BP don't have that many stations selling the higher octane stuff so it's a no-brainer for me.

Yes, but you knew what you had put in the tank. If I filled the tank for you and didn't tell you what was in it, could you tell then? Placebo effect and all that lot.Willy Nilly said:
