Is this the right choice?

I have been trawling the classifieds for ages and have come to a conclusion, i want everything in my budget.

I am after a weekend car that will be taken on the occasional track day and a trip to the ring once a year. I have semi decided on a BMW E36 328 sport. My budget is 2.5-3k with some extra money for a refresh of the bushes, brakes and some coilovers.

Is this a good choice? The e36 328 appears one of the pistonheads favourite but should i be considering anything else?

Criteria is - rwd and manual. Insurance and mpg are not really important but i would like something i havent already owned so not a 200sx, mr2, e34 530 or omega!

Yes- if you can find a good one, a lot of them have been owned by the wrong sort but your budget should find a nice one.

Good choice, as said buy from the right type of person thou.

Also dont rule out early 3.0 m3s, bid hard you might surprise yourself.

944 is a good call, will have a look into them!

Id be very happy if i could find an M3 within budget but fear it may be a bit ropey, worth a search however!
