Help! Attractive family car need ASAP

Hello, I'm new here and I hope you can help me

I'm starting a business and I need a car that looks professional, but I have two small children so I need a fair amount of boot space. I like hatchbacks and the vw Beetle in terms of looks. My budget is around £1500, and ideally I'd like something that looks neat and compact (or quirky and vintage!) but delivers as much on space as possible too.

Any comments or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Cheap, durable, relatively classless, loads of room and not a bad steer in T5 form.

Hi, thank you for your reply I'm not keen on saloon cars and it needs to be under 10 years old. Golf is def on my list, just need to think of others...

Alfa was my first thought, but an estate would seem the better choice. Most modern Alfa's look good in estate form IMO. Vauxhall Signum might be an idea too, always seem keenly priced and are spacious, look ok. The VW beetle however is not a nice looking car so our opinions may be very different.

Alfa156 sportwagon would be a good call. My wife uses our 156 as a daily drive with our daughter. Great car which is stylish, practical and cheap!

b) a classic. (Volvo Amazon, Triumph 2.5PI, Mercedes W123, etc) I used this technique for a couple of years, and my customers never suspected that I was a (broke) cheapskate!

I still use this technique, but now it's because I don't give a toss what people think

Also look at 9000, 9-5 estate, or even classic 900 if you want quirky and vintage.
