Hello All

The old folks need a new car after the Range Rover broke down again.

They buy outright. Where's the best place to get a deal on a new car when not financing?

Thanks in advance

Sam

India I reckon.

You might be looking closer to home though. What kind of car are you looking at? Another Range Rover?

No, they've had enough of RRs now

They want a Q5 or Q7....looks like it'll be a Q5 much to my disappointment

They may struggle to get a really good deal buying cash from a dealership. IIRC they make nearly as much money selling the finance as they do selling the car.

Most dealers won't take cash these days.

But I presume you just mean outright as opposed to on finance.

As has been said that makes you about the least profitable customer there is.

Why not just try the local Audi dealer, but with you suggesting the price

e.g. in you go, say you want such and such a car and you want to pay £x in one hit when the car ready, can they do it yes or no

not optimistic on the models you mention, but its as good a way to start as any other.

Don't forget lead times on Audis are pretty horrendous, so best bet is to get a cancelled order. Plus, a cash buyer is of little interest to them as the good money is made on finance, therefore if you are going to wait for one its going to be a very lonnggg wait.

Get them to look into the finance but keep the cash in an account to pay it off, they may well get a better deal that way than offering cash.
