Given the look of the area, it's not surprising people appeaer to be speeding. It looks a right sthole.

I don't know why people do anymore than 30mph in a 30mph zone. With todays pedestrains walking out left right and centre in front of you and add the fact you are a sitting duck for speed camera vans and guns, it's just not worth it. I'm all for reinforcing 30mph limit in towns, built up areas etc.

On NSL meanwhile, i'll happily drive at 80-100mph - at least if i'm going to get caught i want it to be properly not pissing about at 35mph - and less chance of pedestrians in your way.

Yes, i appreciate the irony.

Now I'm sorry, but that article says not only that the sign is 100ft tall, which it clearly isn't, but better yet, they say that's the height of a double decker bus!

Jesus H, wouldn't that be entertaining!

Article said:
Using specialist ladders and standard red and white emulsion paint, he spent five hours painting the side of his with a huge 30 mph sign, reaching 100ft, as tall as a double decker bus
A well researched article it seems.

yes

It's probably not that drivers are exceeding the speed limit, it's more likely an attitude problem on the part of the house owner ("They're going too fast because I say they're going too fast" or similar).

Wait 'til the local Planning Officer gets notified....
I'd be tempted to give "audible warning of my approach" every time I passed, just in case anyone was going to step out from between the parked cars, etc,. Or if in a Westfield/ TVR/ Caterham drop to 1st gear......

Apparently he also used "specialist ladders", though how these differ from everyday ladders they haven't said.

Lol what a dick. Really has he got nothing better to do on a Sunday than graffiti his house? People drive past my house at silly speeds and I go as far as tutting and shaking my head. I have far more important things to worry about than what someones speedo says as they drive past my house rolleyes
