Finding who owns a car.

Hi,

Is there a way of finding out who owns a car? I am after a number plate and it was put on to a 1979 Cortina when it was new.

It was not a private plate just and standard number plate.

I found the above out by doing a HPI.

If you have necessary reason for the information you can obtain it from the DVLA, however a) I don't know if this is only limited to companies - car park enforcement etc, and b) I doubt the reasons for your request would qualify,,,
