Engine specialist wanted

Hey there,

I'm writing a feature for a website - we're looking at how decent mechanics can have a good stab at diagnosing engine faults from clonking, tapping, banging and any specific noises - and basically tell what's wrong without cracking the head off the engine.

Now, obviously we all (Pistonheads seems to be home to some brilliant mechanical minds!) can have a good guess at what's gone wrong with our cars, but I'd like to chat to an expert for this feature.

I've already got somebody lined up, but I'd like more than one opinion - and preferably that of a renowned engine specialist or highly regarded mechanic - rather than yer usual grease monkey (no offense intended - I realise that they'll also be able to have a good guess half the time too..).

Can any of you guys either:

A) Recommend somebody

B) You're actually a renowned engine specialist - fancy the exposure - and can spare me ten minutes to have a chat later this afternoon?
