Something quick for under £8k

Evening all.
Right, I'm after something quick for around the £8k mark. I dont want something like an Evo or Impreza, I want something that looks smart, but is quick. I prefer 4WD's but I've done the Impreza and Evo thing already and want something that matches my age (31). I've been looking at M3's and S2000's but I was wondering if anyone else had anymore suggestions? I've currently got a Lexus IS200 which, although reliable, is boring me to tears. I would love an RS4, but they are massively overpriced. I can't really think of much else which is 4WD, fast but also looks half decent.

S2000 is quick(ish) but it won't set your hair on fire
Feels very ordinary when it's not in VTEC and needs to be worked hard, but you probably knew that
Keep it on the boil and they go very well, but that is easier said than done on most roads.
£8k will get you a good one, you'll have to be lucky to get a good M3 (e46) for that money

Parts are reasonably priced and 275 BHP (with a few mods), whilst not headline grabbing figures is pretty good and the cars pack a good mid-range punch
