I have a few cars that as i was growing up (between 12 and 18) i wanted more than anything in the world! even though i realise now that most of them are..well...a bit crap, but i know i still have that want for them! it must be that i never did get my hands on them that i still need that itch scratching. does anyone else have this??
my list is as follows
mk1 clio 16v not a williams (that bonnet scoop still does it!)
rover 200 brm (red leather interior...enough said)
OLD black 6 series with black wheels (like the baddie from innerspace)
nova gsi (because they were just cool)
saxo forte 1.1 (almost my 1st new car but my insurance was £62382736782.68 so wasnt to be)
e36 M3 in estoril blue (this really are still cool)

BMW 8 Series - One of the Directors at Carlisle United FC got one when I used to watch them with my old man in my teens. I was hooked! This one was burgundy though

Right next to the F40 poster.When I was a schoolboy I lusted after a Mini Cooper RSP. Nearly got my Dad to buy one but we were 3 days too late!
Also had a Morgan Plus 8 poster on my wall after visiting the factory and drooling over how cool the production process was and how when I rang the door bell Charles Morgan answered and greeted us.

Same here, if I win the lottery it will be one of my first buys. I doubt it will get driven much, as I understand they are not an easy drive 
Same goes for a 308, but the performance will be crap by todays standards.
Apart from the odd supercars i would very much like to own and drive before i die are:

Theyre the only cars i have liked since the day of their release and look at other people driving and felt a hint of envy.
The Alfetta GTV and GTV6. These were the best looking cars to my eyes that I used to actually see with any regularity on the roads, and then at school one of our teachers had a red mid '80s GTV, so I saw one every day. Eventually got one and it was even better to own than I had hoped.
Others on the list were:
Opel Kadett GSi 16v (First iteration, Astra GTE in the UK). Eventually realised that the performance was indeed fantastic but the handling wasn't to my liking.
Ferrari 328 (now I'd prefer a 308, I do think it looks nicer and I hear the steering is better)
Pantera GT5 (don't fancy one now)
Countach 5000QV (still on the wish list, with the big wing, preferably black but not fussy)
2wd Sapphire Cosworth
205 GTI 1.9 (until I drove one)
E28 M5
XJ40 - a Lister V12 conversion would have been top of the list
Maserati Biturbo Spyder (I just couldn't believe they'd be as bad a drive as the press said they were. Still have a crush on the damn things unfortunately)

The usual pics on the wall when I was in my teens as others have said, was fortunate enough to be able to drive one of those - a Countach owned by a friend a couple of years ago.
The old saying of never meet your hero was never more apt, beautiful car from the outside, amazing noise when started up but a complete nightmare to drive. Heavy steering & on-off switch of a clutch, zero side and rear visibility. Loved it but wouldn't own one now.
Still have a hankering to drive the original Escort Cossie, maybe one day...
And the F40 of course (another poster car)
From 1978 - 1982 the posters on my bedroom wall were AM V8 Vantage and Volante cars - Always like the lines of a big GT coupe - both I knew would always be ou of my reach financially but the BMW 6 and Opel Monza ticked the boxes as far as GT Coupe was concerned - I ended up going down the Opel route
