£35 at Asda online - cheapest I've seen

http://direct.asda.com/TEX-Car-Snow-Socks---Variou...

(various sizes available)

The small ones won't go down to 155/70/13 according to the table of sizes though, so no good to me frown

They are undoubtedly the way however even for my little car that'll cost £190 for tyres and whatever for wheels (which are like gold dust due to being a stupid offset/centre bore combination only really used on Korean cars)smile

Get them if they'll fit your car then - as I said they are considerably cheaper than competitors. I'd buy them if I thought they'd be fine on 155/70/13.

I tried some last year but they were devilishly hard to get onto the 19'' wheels on my E65. In the end I had to jack the car up to get the sock round the wheel and even they didn't really work. Just sayin'.

That is a great deal, as I expected they have sold out, I have asked to be informed when they get some more in. Thats 1/2 price of anywhere else I have looked.

I have been trying to make my mind up as to how well some of them work but would take a risk if it was that price. There was a warning about cheap snow socks on this site I found:

snow socks

Its not commercial/doesnt sell anything but does real like an 9 year old wrote it so I am not sure how much weight it carried

I collected mine in store after ordering online - as I walked out I noticed they had them on the shelf in the motoring section for £30.
