So cheapest mods first, lose some weight (from the car) assuming you are having it as a bit of trackday fun, remove anything that isn't essential, seats, trim, electric windows, spare wheel. You'll be surprised how much more nimble it can become before you even start spending!
AP racing do an amazing and effective kit for 850's - from memory they are expensive (1800quid?).
Another much cheaper option is to retro fit some v70 t5 (classic 850 based model) front discs. The disc diameter was increased on the v70 and they are a fair bit larger - you would also need to replace other parts - namely the hubs and the calipers also I have a feeling the standard 850 t5 alloys won't accommodate the larger discs so they would need to be changed to either the 16" v70 t5 wheels (squared off design) or 17" Inch wheels from any other Volvo

TROLL!
Morning all

Your first post isn't entirely clear, are you using it for trackdays?
If you are, my suggestion would be to get rid or find space for something more suitable. A kit-car of some sort (it doesn't even need to be a Caterham) will be faster, cheaper to run on track and hold its value better than a hacked about Volvo estate.

Yes it is for a track car, something which is a bit different and cheap coz unless i can get an westfield, caterham, atom.etc for 500 squid which is what i paid for this beast it's gonna have to make do for a 1st car and i ain't gonna spend zillion's on it & if it aint faster than speeding bullet do i give a toss, not realy, won't know what it go'es like until i give it a blast... not only that i've got a dog...If you are, my suggestion would be to get rid or find space for something more suitable. Thats the ticket just what's needed sound advise, seen the ap brakes getting dam close to 3 times the value of the car so thanks but no thanks.the other ideas are on the list. ta lardyAnother much cheaper option is to retro fit some v70 t5 (classic 850 based model) front discs.
