Seeing as i've just renewed the insurance on my TVR and stuck some tax on I intend to use it (assuming we don't get silly snowfall...) So it therefore goes without saying the roof will be off smile now the question is headwear...

At the moment i'm thinking either...

A PROPER Rabbit fur Ushanka (not a nylon fake USSR Army one)

or

Now as i'll be driving a fairly shouty and un-subtle TVR in winter, sans roof, attention is a given and I don't mind looking like a tit really so any opinions or other suggestions are welcome!

How cold is it around where you are?

Some sort of ski wear would be the place to start for sensible options.
Given we were seeing -12c on a regular basis last winter I don't think I would fancy it myself.

Colder the better, I bloody love it! Also the Chims heaters are fab, mainly because the big old lump up front heats its water very quickly. Top down winter driving is something everybody should try!

I have got a flat cap (i'm 26.....frown but in my defence I wear it when i'm walking and shooting wink) but there is always the risk it could come off when travelling "briskly" wink

My old man used to use an authentic WWII leather flying helmet, acquired along with the rest of his uniform by my gradfather after he parked his Wellington in the drink (again) and told the quartermaster he had lost everything.

This - I have such a set up (not with 633 Squadron emblazoned on it though) together with a sheepskin flying jacket (although I have to admit the jacket is German in origin!). Absolutely perfect - my lads hide in the footwell when I am so attrired, until we are out of the village and they have confidence that they won't be recognised by their friends! It's great being an embarrassing parent.

Whats the car chap?

Can this get up working in a Bently Blower or a Morgan but a TVR...? maybe....definately can't see it working in an MX5 or a euro cabby.
