Hi all,

I applied to the DVLA for full info on my csl and got back a list of all the owners. It appears the car first wore the plate BMW 72 until May 1975. The first owner was Dewstow ENgineering of Grove Lane, Retford. Google search reveals nothing for this company.

Second owner was Martin Walsh of Micklebring, ROtherbury.

Third - David Jess Sangster of The Green, Pirbright.

Fourth - Andrew James Crockett of Ramsgate, Kent

Then in 1982 it was registered in my father's name.

Any help tracing the previous owners would be great to get some more info on the car's early life.

Regards,

Rohan

Quick Google throws up:

http://www.checksure.biz/Director/ANDREW+JAMES+CRO...
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=CT4+8JR&oe=utf...redfacefficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&sa=N&tab=wl

Obviously a powerful built, goat-ied, (ex?) company director type.

Only one David J Sangster listed here:

http://www.192.com/people/search/

(I don't know what you get/pay for in terms of details, but it's a start)

If the town has a website, someone may remember him...

http://www.micklebring.com/

And this search suggests he may be involved in a planning application? (Its the bottom one)

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Martin+Walsh+of+M...redfacefficial&client=firefox-a#q=%22Martin+Walsh%22+Micklebring&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-USredfacefficial&prmd=imvnsofd&filter=0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=b53e645ed3c6a495&biw=1600&bih=800

It's certainly in the right area geographically!

Happy hunting! smile

EDIT: Dash it! You will have to quote and copy and paste some of my links, I have no idea how to stop it turning them into 'smiley' faces...

Oh, and as no doubt some wag will turn up and do it anyway, http://lmgtfy.com/hehe

This site seems to see ":0" as an angry "smilie". In case it's done it again I meant "colon Oh".
