I replaced the thermostat on the car (4.7 Grand Cherokee) and instead of using a spring type clamp ring to hold the lower radiator hose onto the T stat housing, I used a large jubilee clip instead. Are they as good/tight or should I replace with a new spring clamp?

Personally I don't think they are better than the original spring clips but it will work just as well, but don't over tighten it.

I hate those spring clips and always replace them with a suitable jubilee. Just be careful not to overtighten.

Spring thingys are a nightmare, I always hurt myself trying to remove them. Jubilee clip every time.
