I can see a time and a place for most cars out there. If I had plenty of cash and lived on a farm, I'd get a range rover. If I had kids, an S-Max and so on.

There are some cars I just wouldn't ever own. Not because they are bad, I just couldn't ever see myself in curcumstances where I would actually purchase one. These include:

Subaru impreza
BMW X1
Vauxhalls

What are your 'never' cars?

Any

Not sure I have any "never" cars.

I have a longish list of "not unless its outrageously bargainiferous" cars, mind hehe

Out of interest, why the Impreza? I can absolutely understand the image thing, but from what I've read, they are an incredibly effective point-to-point weapon. Especially when you have a 5 mile forest and gravel commute biggrin

Kia Picanto tongue out

But honestly, any dual cab SUV style pick up. Hate them with a passion.

For me, I would never buy a supermini. I can see a time and a place for them, I just couldn't bring myself to buy a shopping trolley with delusions of grandeur.

I especially dislike the following:
Fiat 500
Nissan Micra
G-Wiz

The first two may not necessarily be bad cars though, so don't get me wrong. However, I have actually turned down an offer of a lift in a G-Wiz, preferring to walk.

I don't know, silly isn't it! I'd go for an evo in that case.

Another one I would never own is an MGB.

Plenty of people.

The amount of people who have spoken to me about golfs et al. as though they are truly great cars is depressing.

So you would never buy a Vauxhall, no matter what they made or how much it cost?

Not over other cars at the price, I'm sure they are fine but strangely I can't see any scenario when I'd actually buy one.

Mercedes A or B class.

Are they the ultimate non-petrol head cars? I think so. The sense of self grandeur is never more evident too.

People carriers in general....

Can't see the point.. if you need the space get an estate car if you live in a town, or a 4x4 if you live in the country..

Have you ever seen one without dents or scrapes? They must be made of tin foil.

Merc SLK.

The MkII one with the nose that looks like it needs circumcising.

I was exactly the same until I was a passenger in a 4 seater pick up.

Granted, it was a V8 and I was in California at the time. wink

It's just not the same here. They are normally the victim of an MLM owner with tattoos. rolleyes

Double cab utes are in fact very good at their intended purpose - where I am most of the people who drive them are farmers, tradesmen or people who like shooting things.

Daren't say my "never would buy" cars out loud nowadays, as a few years down the line, I often end up sitting in one thinking, "where did my life go wrong?".
