I passed my driving test party

24 cars (currently bidding on a possible 25th)
0 points
0 convictions
0 injuries, aside from countless grazed knuckles attempting car repair
3 Police stops
1 minor fault accident
4 non fault accidents
3 coming-togethers with inanimate objects
2 spins
£best not to think about how much I spent
A lot of breakdowns

A pretty good record overall. I remember being told shortly afterwards that the novelty would wear off within weeks, but it still hasn't, even in our speed camera, bus lane, and speed bump infested roads. It's certainly expensive, but you can't put a price on the freedom a licence bestows upon you.

In that same period I've had 3 cars, and zero to every other point.

I wouldn't call 8 accidents in 10 years a good record smile

A lot of breakdowns - running out of petrol when being a poor student the most frequent!

I'd guess about 80-100,000. Of the 4 accidents that we're my fault one was when the car was parked, one drove into the back of me, one reversed into my door whilst I was stationary and the other was a LHD HGV not bothering to check his blind spot. All minor, injury free damage, and nothing I could have done to prevent any of them. The one that was my fault was driving too close a few weeks after passing my test, after which the lesson was very quickly learnt

I went through this milestone on the 18th October

13 cars (I also have a geeky spreadsheet with all the cars I've driven, this stands at 83)
3 points
0 convictions
1 injuries
3 Police stops (2 breath tests, 1 in Germany, 1 in Australia)
1 major fault accident (my poor Fiesta)
1 minor fault accident (ran myself over, Brian Harvey style....)
1 coming-together with inanimate objects (my Mom and Dads house, long story)
0 spins
Again, best not to think about how much I spent (luckily a lot of company cars)
210k miles driven, which even at 10p a mile is £20k, luckily most of this has been paid for by somebody else

23 cars in ten years? Bleedin' ell, good work!

For me:
10 years ago, I'd passed my test 10 years ago. Christ.
4 cars.
1 bump where someone reversed into my (stationary) car in a car park - bumper scuff.
Nowt else.
200,000 miles or thereabouts.

ETA -that's the last 10 years. In the previous 10 there was:

3 cars.
1 non-fault accident (hit while stationary, write-off).
Couple of "reversing into bollard" incidents.
1 spin (too enthusiastic with the awesome RWD power of a vauxhall chevette in my first 6 months hehe)
Many, many breakdowns in a Pug 405 GR.
2 police stops (comming back in the small hours from late shifts)
No points or fines.

You sound like a liability to me smile

20+ years driving here. No points. Many more miles than you. 1 minor prang where I ended up in the middle of a fender bender (car behind pushed me into car in front). Looking back I could have been more defensive and minimised this incident too.

Ten years ago today-ish I was fitting a new turbo to my GSXR 7/11 and had just about finished fitting a Nissan 200SX engine to my MGB GT.

How the mighty have fallen. frown

I passed my test in 1998. I’ve had 32 or 34 cars (can’t remember), no points, two fault claims, 12-18k a year and thousands of pounds wasted on cars.

6 years since i passsed, 4 cars, one minor tap (my fault, no damage), several embarrassing inanimate object "interactions" (reversed into a house...), many breakdowns (cheap bangers <3), 6 pulls (most for potential drink driving ((mistaken identity)) and one for speeding), no points, no fines, and one trial by fire where the throttle jammed open on my E34.

I always thought you were a lot older too! I'm a child by these standards, with my licence approaching its third birthday, but here's mine:

3 cars (not changing until I'm 21)
0 points
0 convictions
0 injuries, aside from countless grazed knuckles attempting car repair (no need to change that for me!)
0 Police stops
1 major fault accident
0 non fault accident
0 coming-togethers with inanimate objects
0 spins
Actually no breakdowns, just an irritating electrical drain on a battery.
And as for the cost.. I could actually know exactly, but have never added all the cars' figures up hehe here goes..

£9054.17.

fk me, that's not been cheap, not when all three cars added together cost £1550..

34 years in January that I passed my car test.
31 years since I passed my bike test.

7 motorised two-wheelers
37 cars
Stopped by Police only twice that I recall - one for having six people in my A40 - negative breathalyser - and the other for wheel-spinning my Viva 1800.
1 prosecution for due care (acquitted).
3 car accidents (that I recall)
1 bike accident (no other vehicles involved)
3 penalty points and one speed awareness course.
Engine variation - 50cc to 5700cc - 1.5hp to 462hp.
2 marriages
5 children...
ONE breakdown in 34 years and that was last week!

I'm 10 years in Jan, and I've had:

5 cars (all sadly pretty decent as well...no sh** boxes!)
0 points
0 convictions
0 injuries
1 Police stop (breathalysed)
1 minor fault accident (clipped the back of a truck after it stopped on a motorway roundabout and removed a great deal of the front of my car)
1 non fault accident (van driver drove in to the back of me at the same roundabout as above!)
0 coming-togethers with inanimate objects
0 spins
3 breakdowns (all electrical!)

I've also now had my race license for nearly 3 years now and that record is:

1 car
371 points (in a good way!)in two seasons
1 disqualification (for driving 'in a manner outside the general safety of the sport' apparently!)
3 points on my race license from the above!
2 front wings (not the aerodynamic variety)
2 nose cones
3 rear wings (again....fenders as the yank's would call them)
1 silencer
1 lambda sensor
1 cat guard
1 fog light
1 reverse light
2 rear lights
1 front wishbone
1 no fault accident
1 minor fault accident
0 spins

Is it good or bad I sound older than I am (29)?
