Article in Classics and Sports Car magazine November 2011 stated a 23,000 mile E30 M3 Sport Evolution sold for £82,000.

Article also Mentioned that they had "heard" of an unregistered Sport Evo selling for six figures.

That is strong money. I would love an e30 m3 in my life though, seems they are getting further from my grasp everyday though!


I loved my 318is e30 but the m3 is about 50 times more expensive.

That one's a bargain - auction though, you'd expect that.

I wouldn't have thought it would attract any import duty UK reg'd car, even if it is in Germany at time of sale.

The £65k Evo II is being marketed by a BMW main dealer, so they will mave a pretty health margin in that car, as much as £10K would not suprise me..

I think the car is worth the asking price is that's what somebody wants, be it a collector or just a lad who always had a childhood dream of owning one. But I don't think it's value for money in the great scheme of things, it's a purchase of the heart rather than head - until it rises in value again & then it's both If I was buying an E30 M3 and I considered it many times several years ago, I'd buy a a £10-12k standard one, drive it as intended and repair as required. Good luck to the new owner.

I was recently told about a sport evo selling for in the region of £80k to a foreign collector who was then going to pay some ridiculous import duty on top

I could see that Evo 2 getting close to the £65k, not what i'd be spending my money on.
