What happens if you have 2 cars with 2 separate motor insurance policies and 2 separate NCB and you claim on 1 policy.

Do you have to inform the insurer of the 2nd policy?

You would have to inform the other company as part of your driving history...

"Have you had any accidents/claims in the past X years"

Doesn't matter which policy it was on, you'd have to fess up.

You need to inform the second insurer that you've made a claim on a different policy as it forms part of your driving history, it won't affect the No claims bonus as you're not claiming on that policy.

Bit difficult to do that online as I don't think there's a tick box for claim not relating to that vehicle's insurance.

Presumably they'll shaft me on the premium even though it's not directly related to that policy.

It doesn't matter about the car the question they are asking is about the driver history.

A telephone can help in this instance as long as you have a decent broker
