Toad EL433 Fob

Hi there,
I've just bought an (old) Escort with a Toad Immobiliser fitted, but have no instructions for the fob. It's a four button fob (two larger ones at the top) and I was just told to use the right hand top button to unlock the car and disable the alarm and immobiliser. This has worked on a couple of occasions, but most of the time, I start the car up and it cuts out after about 30 seconds/a minute of driving. The battery light comes on and everything dies. It does re-start straight away, well, with a bit of revving, but obviously something isn't right.
I think the fob I have is the equivalent of the newer Ai606, but haven't found any instruction manuals online. The Toad website will charge for instructions or re-setting the fob.
I'm no techie (although I'm not totally blonde!), so just some clear instructions about which button does what would be great, if anyone can help?!
