At the moment oncoming people keep flashing their lights at me and its pissing me off!

I took the car to the garage to get my lights checked out as the driver’s side headlight didn’t seem to be self levelling (HID). The garage sorted it out but people still keep flashing me and I don’t know why?

Does anyone else have this problem?

Can you not get a friend to sit in their car and then drive towards them?

What car are the HID's fitted to? If it's an after market set up then the chances are they aren't being diffused correctly and you are dazzling people. The focus of the beem is where the majority of the light is but if the lenses aren't working correctly then nomater how you have them adjusted it makes little to no difference.

One of the reasons why aftermarket HID kits make the driver an instant knob.

VAG and Merc ones are often too bright, never noticed Honda's being particularly bright but evidently someone does.

Do you drive with your front driving/ fog lights on?
Are you just not recognising friends giving a friendly flash?
Are you so courteous that loads of people are just saying 'thanks!'?

As someone else stated why don't you just test with someone known to you. Does it happen on crests of hills etc? Or is it just normal roads? Has the main beam (blue light) failed on your dash?

Silly questions I know!

Unfortunately HIDs are a bit of a nuisance and they are going to piss people off. Get used to it.

What makes me laugh is when you overtake entirely safely and some guy coming towards you starts flashing his lights or even worse makes a naughty sign.

i used to find it more annoying when the person you overtake puts their full beams on, and leave them on...which is obviously safe for any soon-to-be oncoming traffic.

doesn't bother me now though as i have auto-dimming mirrors hehe

Yep the other classic is for the car you are overtaking to accelerate ever so slighty just to make it that bit harder for you, nevermind that it may kill you or a people travelling in the other direction.

And anyone see that car on Police Camera Action which while sitting in the middle lane on a motorway saw 2 or 3 cars fly past at 90-100 mph, so decided to move into the fast lane at 65 mph to prevent the next car doing the same. Little did they know it was an unmarked police car who promptly pulled them in a gave a good bking and 3 points.

Maybe they're on their way out and are strobing with the engine vibration.
