I guess its BMW's version of the CLS, but its not very 'swoopy'? I'm sure they'll sell some but doesn't seem much between it and the 5 series?

That foto angle is a bit mis-leading. It's definitely got a lot more "swoopyness" than the 5.

I do take your point that there is a lot of overlap between 5 saloon - 6 4dr - 6 coupe.

Hardly surprising that BMW want to compete with the CLS - they're everywhere around here.

Do BMW have any possible car configurations left?

Just convertible people carrier left go as far as I can see. Or maybe an off-road two seat roadster.

Well they don't have a small coupe any more, that would be nice.

1-series coupé?

Oh what they don't have is a proper 7-seater, like the Espace or the R-class (which was a huge succes iirc wink).

I don't get BMW model names anymore, the 640i is a 3.0 turbo, the 650i is a 4.4 twin turbo. It can't be that hard to call them a 630i Turbo and a 645i Twin Turbo (I'll give them a 0.1 litre).

It's lovely IMHO, a dear do though at nearly 70k for the 640d M sport which I guess will be the best seller.

At a tad over 5 metres long and knocking on for 2 metres wide @ 1.9 metres it's going to have some road presence.

That's a two-door saloon. tongue out

I meant a sporty one, like the old Z4 coupe.

I loved the Z3, but the missus didn't want it.

Too bad they don't do anything like that anymore indeed...

isn't the x5 a full 7 seater? the r class seats 6 in full-sized seats (iirc?). not sure if the rear seats in the x5 are the same size as an espace?

the 6 saloon is officially a '4 plus one', looking at that center tunnel, I'd not like to be the 'plus one' (although 4 zone climate is a nice touch)

So the 6 series is the coupe version of the 5 series saloon and the 6 series saloon is the saloon version of the 6 series which offers the same as the 5 series saloon? Makes sense to me!

I think it looks fantastic, easily the best looking BMW Saloon. Imagine an Alpina version cloud9

I quite like that but then I am a big fan of the CLS. It's an awkward layout to design for and god knows, you could hammer out some wky old shash if not careful.
