Back in 2002 I passed my driving test and I did the pass plus course so when I insured my first car Churchill gave me a NCB of 1 year to start with. Does anyone else year on year have to explain to insurance companies how you have more NCB than you've had your licence. And you have to call them cause their websites say you have made an error when your NCB is licence +1. Arghhh

Nope, I did mine in 2006 and it gave me a discount for a year or two, but makes no real difference now. Never knew it could count as a year NCB though.

Giving you one year's NCB is a bit weird. When I did it they just gave me a discount.

I completed around 8 years ago but I don't believe it gives you a years NCD, however some insurers may offer you the same discount as a years NCD.

If you moved insurance you would simply have to produce the certificate your last insurer provided which would state your NCD entitlement.

After 5+ years I stopped seeing prices drop anyway....

I did mine and was told it gives you the equivelant discount of 1 years NCB.

At the end of year 1 you will get 1 year NCB not 2.

Well Churchill gave me the 1 year NCB bonus at the time so I've always had a year extra on the licence as I've always had the renewal paperwork to show it. Ok Maybe it's just me then!

Maybe that was just their way of reducing the cost of the insurance for you because at the time they didn't have anything specific in their system for Pass Plus?

I Did PP too and didn't get an NCB. Just a few bob off my first year.

unfortanately pass plus isn't woth the money these days
it was more of a get rich quick scheme

as told to me by a very reliable driving instructor 7 months ago when the daughter passed her test
I also asked the insurance company and they basically said the same

I did Pass Plus a few weeks after passing my test back in 2004. Not really sure how much it saved me on insurance, but it was quite fun at least.

I did it more for the motorway driving experience tbh. It saved me about £200 on my insurance which was nice, but mostly I wanted to have someone hold my hand while I joined the motorway for the first time.

(especially as 2 days after passing my test I took the family across the country on a short vacation)

I did it to get cheaper insurance, got about £200 off iirc.
Although I did mine when I had been driving for a year, so my instructor had to correct a few habits I had picked up. hehe
