Usually in the Sinclair I carry around a spare set of inner tubes, wind-up torch, paracetamol, a compact toolkit of some sort & a wind-up phone charger.

ETA: i-station
pack of Haribos (usually within reach in the footwell )
tyre pump (compact one)
gloves (no roof/windscreen & chilly mornings really don't go together)
spare set of fuses
cable ties
WD40

So what do you always have in the car 'just in case'?

I pod, cd's and sunglass's in the glovebox. Always have my wallet and phone on me anyway, and in the winter I make sure my jacket is in the car.
No need for anything else it's not like we like in the middle of the outback!

A copy of Flight Simulator 2004 that has been there for years, my mate asked me about the game for his lad and then decided when I took it round he didnt want it, been there ever since, so I am sorted if I need to provide a slightly out of date approximation of flying a Cessna at the side of the road to someone with a Pentium 4 with 1 GB of ram and a DirectX 8 compatiable video card.

Never thought about Glowsticks, might invest in some. Although knowing me I'd probably get bored in traffic and play with one.

I also forgot to mention that I have tow rope and jump leads in the back. The tow rope aint really for rescuing anyone, its to help people rescue me wink My car is really too light to tow anything out of a ditch.

Also got a big snow shovel and plenty of blankets/clothes in the back.

When its snowing I also dont leave without a flask full of hot coffee/tea/water.

I got the glow sticks because the local pound shop was selling 12" ones for £1, and I couldnt resist! They're alot brighter than the smaller ones, its designed to provide proper light and it does

In winter, some de-icer and a scraper, in summer, probably nothing. I never travel without a torch and a safety hammer / seatbelt cutter though.

A first aid kit, fluro jacket and a box with a disposable camera, a torch, a pen and some paper in it just in case i'm ever involved in an RTA (So that I can take pictures, jot down insurance and contact details etc..) and a copy of my insurance policy documents

All sound svery sensible, but it's there because my company supply it all, and it's in our company car policy that we carry it at all times.

In the BMW - LED torch and jump leads. Couple of spare bulbs - brake/side/indicator; cheap ratchet screwdriver and assorted bits to fit the bulbs with. The odd spare fuse. Carrying them seems to guarantee I don't need them; have used to help others on a few occasions though.

In the R1 Fisher Fury - ha; no glovebox! Manbag to hold wallet, keys and phone, usually also contains tyreweld, earplugs, handy allen key tool and a recovery service card.

Fuses, compact sleeping bag, bulbs, high-vis jacket, duct tape cable ties, assorted hand tools and jump leads. Have them all in a rucksack that stays in the boot in case I need any of it - anything I can't fix with that easily is a job for AA break down cover. I've been meaning to invest in one of those booster packs to ditch the jump leads but haven't got round to it yet.
