Its very windy here and was thinking what if a tile blew off the roof and landed on the z4 and ripped the roof or damaged the body?
I have moved the car now.
Would this be covered on house insurance? There is no reason a tile should blow off its just a what if?
Anyone had this happen before?

Your home insurance might cover it, provided they don't manage to class it as Act of God, in which case you're buggered.

Even if you could claim, though, you have the wonderful situation of putting a claim on your car insurance record against your home insurance record, so to be honest you're pretty buggered either way..

Happened to our neighbour tonight, he has moved his car and suggested we move ours and he has now coned the area off till the morning.
Will ask him what he is going to do.
Couple of year old beemer and nasty scratches and dints down side of the car.
Would be most miffed if it had landed on the Lotus or even the Alfa.

Just had a quick google of the situation, and it looks like home insurance will pay for the damage to the roof but no damage the roof does to the car.

Thats a shame, glad I moved the car now. I would be so mad if left it to chance and came out in the morning with a big hole in the roof and a ridge tile on the seat. Can you imagine the bill to sort that out especially if it damaged the mechanism for the soft top. :-( I shall sleep sound now I have moved it:-D

This happened to my bike a few years back - I couldn't believe my st luck! Insurance wouldn't cough so I bought a new tank for it myself.
