Realistic labour times???

How long does it really take to change a cambelt in an Impreza?? I get mixed messages from mechanics I have spoken too and big variations in cost?

Autodata lists an 04' WRX STI cambelt replacement as being 1.9 hours.

I must admit I haven't done one before so don't know how much of a pita they are. If they are a bugger to do then I would add time on accordingly.

Couple hours sounds about right, easier access than getting to the plugs!

I did a 1998 impreza and took me near to exactly what it said in my autodata book.

The job is surprisingly easy considering the type of car, with everything at the front of the engine bay.

My dad who is more experienced at the job done in just over an hour if I remember correctly.
