I have recently decided to clean my 1:18 scale Lamborghini Countach model as it has been left on the top of my cabinet gathering dust for the past two years. Unfortunately, I am having trouble getting the dust out of the tiny gaps all over the bodywork. I have tried using a pin to remove the muck but it doesn't seem to work. Does any one have any ideas of how I could clean my little Countach? Also, one of the scissor doors has gone floppy and refuses to come up. A replacement is needed as the metal has snapped; where could I get one from? I'll upload pictures soon.....

I'd start by attaching a snowfoam lance to the jetwasher and covering the car in a thick warm foam. Allow this to do its stuff for about 10 minutes before washing it off. Then move on to spraying the paintwork with IronX and Tardis to remove paint contaminants and tar. Once you've done that go over the entire car with a gently clay bar and some clay lube. Then wash the car with a PH neutral shampoo before using the sheet rinsing method followed by drying the car with a large plush microfiber cloth.

Oh...its a 1:18...bks. In that case some Mr Sheen and an old sock

Stiff paintbrush - as in oil painting - a toothbrush will likely take the paint off.

Although a toothbrush isn't going to help out with the dust in the door. It'll probably work with the rest of the car though.

I wouldn't want to be using pins or toothbrushes to get the dust out, you will risk damaging the paint. I'd just got for a can of compressed air, you can get it at computers shops for cleaning keyboards and blowing the dust out of the inside of your computer.

Air duster in a can, available at your local Maplins store.
Normally around £5-10 a can.

I can't really see compressed air doing the job, this dust has been there for over two years and is wedged in to the gaps! I could try it though....

You'd be surprised, that is what this stuff is designed for.

Easy. Use the upholsery brush attachment on your hoover.

NB. This is also the best way to clean the dashboard, switches, air vents etc in your car.

Isn't this a bit big for a 1:18 scale car? Would it fit?
