Getting the same car twice?
Discussion
Just wondering how many have done this?
I've just stuck a deposit down on an MX5 after owning one a few years back. I've tried loads of different cars, and in the end, found it was the '5 that provided the most fun for a given budget. I was always dead against having the same car twice, but in the end, after trying a few other cars, I realised that the car I sold because I was "bored" of it was actually the best to drive.
I can actually see me sticking with it for quite a long time despite having a reputation for changing cars rather often (the MX5 will be my 4th car this year!).

I've owned 2 5 door MK2 Golf GTI 8V's in a row and then a Corrado G60 followed by a Corrado VR6, the Corrado's while not strictly the same were still the same model.
Also almost always went for an MX5 MK3 2.0 Sport in Winning Blue as my dmonstrator when I was selling Mazda's, had other's 3 MPS, 6 MPS RX-8 231 and RX-8 PZ but none were as fun as the MX, there is something about them.

I know if I had to sell the defender for any reason I'd either want another when i could afford it or the opportunity to buy it back again. I would have another mx5 but probably a mk2 this time and i would turbocharged it. I think it's sometimes fun revisiting old models you've owned, there are not many cars I've had over the last couple of decades I wouldn't mind owning again.
Had 5 polo g40s in the past, albeit all in different forms, i.e. road, fast road, stripped out road/track, track, racecar etc. and a corrado g60. Always wanted a VR6 rado and nearly got one just after I crashed my G60 but steered away and got boring tow cars. And nearly bought another g40 after being away from the scene for about 5years after seeing one fly past me once.
I think im at a point now though where I like to try other brands and 'move on'.
