Does anyone know what the top speed of a 2002 Mercedes CL600 would be if the limiter was took off?

493 bhp / 367.6 kW @ 5000 rpm and a fairly good aero shape so maybe about 190mph actual (220 possible on the speedometer)

^ Merc never quoted an unrestricted speed, but the consensous seems that it should nudge 200mph, or close too.

Bar bar-room bragging rights, to what purpose would this de-restriction be put?

It'd allow you to go over 155mph, which is practical on some German roads

Well it's got a CDa of 6.69 and 500bhp, so looking at other cars with similar numbers, I reckon it should be good for somewhere between 190 and 200mph if it's geared for it.

I'm liking the quickfire man maths but in 2002 didn't the CL600 have circa 361bhp?

The first drives of the twin turbo model were all late 2002 because as far as I remember the twin turbo was 2003 model.

Even if you could get them in 2002 it was right at the end of the year so we need to know which one the car in question is.

Perhaps it's just me but I think your whole posting style is very similar to MCLAREN KID:

Then that's the older 361bhp model - new man maths required chaps!

I reckon it'd push 170ish based on nothing but wild assumption.
