Impulsive Ebay Purchases
Discussion
Buoyed by festive cheer (and a little too much mulled wine) I got carried away on Ebay last night and am now the proud owner of a 100,000 mile Mk1 Alfa Sud Ti.
I've not seen or driven the car, hadn't intended to bid and will probably need to sell something in order to make garage space for it.
In spite of all this, I'm actually rather excited - I've been meaning to scratch my 'sud itch for years but had never managed to do so.
So, my question is this - am I alone in this tomfoolery, or is this common PH behaviour?
The unintentional blind purchase of a 34yr old AlfaSud has to be up there, but bring it on if you think you can do better !
Merry Christmas!

Nothing to add other than thank you for buying that as you outbidded me at some stage and saved me from having to write a similar thread!
You're welcome... I think. I'll let you know what it's like once I've got my hands on it on Wednesday !
The irony of its paint being rust coloured is not lost on me...
I'm praying for you that it's as good as it looks. The 1200 Ti is an absolute belter but the steel is woeful. Mine literally dissolved. I believe the shells are lined with a kind of foam so any perforation means the car becomes a sponge. Even the radiator fins rusted away and fell out on mine so if it is a good one (pray, pray, pray) please keep it safe and avoid the rain.
Looks superb - I always loved the 'Sud only ended up with Lancias in the '80 'cos i found a good one of those 1st!
Bought a Porsche 944 on "impulse" late one Friday evening, unseen and 190 miles away -
Pickes it up on the Sunday -air in the tyres fuel in the tank and drove it home, still driving it, hope its as good for you.

Indeed... I've had a couple of Lancia MonteCarlos and other assorted Italian steel, so no stranger to the tin worm !
That looks stunning hope it turns out to be good as it looks
