You can legally use your own fuel up to 2500 litres a year tax free if you register yourself I believe.

Look for some veg oil forums as they have all the information you need.

My 200tdi land rover will happily run on a 50/50 mix of diesel and old engine oil but the acids in used engine oil can harm pump seals etc. Personally I'd either filter and treat your own waste vegetable oil or simply use fresh rapeseed oil which you can get from around £1 a litre at the minute I think.

If you have done your homework on what your vehicle will run on then I don't think you need to register for under a certain amount, used to be the 2500 litres....


if it works it works. not sure how the HC will compare though, come MOT time make sure you are running on SVO for a tank before...

Where is the cheapest place to get SVO from? New clean stuff I mean, do places like Costco do it in bulk?
