Any auto electricians about?

A bit of a long shot maybe as Googling them in my local area seems to yield a list of fax machines, unrecognised numbers or people who don't wish to answer their phones. So I'm hoping there's someone local and competent on PH.
I'm in Bracknell with an E36 BMW with an infuriating alarm problem that means if I wish to drive anywhere, I must do so with the hazards flashing throughout and am having to disconnect the battery when I park up to avoid draining it completely - it was new less than 2 months ago and the battery in the remote fob seems fine too.

Until you can find an auto elec in your area, remove glove box locate alarm brain, it will be behing there, and unplug. Car will still start as it runs a transponder immobiliser, obviously you will lose the remote locking so will have to resort to using the key.
That sounds a tolerable compromise. Will go and dismantle the glove box presently. Is there anything else in there I'm likely to f

No, just don't cut any wires, the alarm wires will all be plugged in, post a picture if you're unsure.
Are we talking the whole glovebox and vents panel, or just the panel underneath it in the footwell?I've unscrewed four retaining screws that appear to be all that holds the glovebox in, but it isn't coming free. I've got the footwell panel out and can see rather a lot of wires and control modules for various things.
I'd remove the whole thing, there are 8 screws in total IIRC.

Perfect, thanks. It was the two screws in the vents themselves I couldn't see. Will pop back with a pic once I've got it all off. ETA pic, so this is what I'm now faced with:

Left handside, behind the bunch of brown earthing wires the box with the red and white plugs going into it is the alarm control unit, the red and white plugs are for the ultrasonics, there will be a large harness plug on it just pull the whole plug out.
But leave the red and white plugs in place? This will then remove the alarm, but leave the central locking otherwise intact yes? I thought the little key for the box under the bonnet turned the whole thing off, turns out that was just the siren bit, bloody silly thing

Cheers, pulled all the plugs out. Everything else seems to work as it's meant to now. With the car firmly in banger territory value-wise, it's unlikely I'll spend a few hundred £ fitting a new module in due course, it's money that can otherwise go on mechanical upkeep. You may be able to still get a new unit from BMW, might be worth asking cost and availability etc, the it is just a straight swap over like for like.
Thanks ever so much for your assistance, that's probably saved me quite a few needless £ today and more fool the auto electricians who couldn't be arsed to pick their phones up this morning.
