The M5 is off the road for the winter months under my carport. I have it on a storage charger the so battery will be fine but any other words of advice from you guys like should the windows be shut or left with a gap to circulate the air etc ? It is pretty well closed in on all sides.

Think id leave the windows up, with the danger of nasty weather getting inside or even worse...thieves.

I'm assuming the car has no leaks...hence damp concerns?

The car is out of sight and it does not have any leaks. Just worried about mould forming really.

Might not do any harm to put one of those plastic dehumidifiers with the white granules in there to prevent the seatbelts and any leather going mouldy, but apart from that and the battery it should be fine.

Dehumidifier tip: if possible, stand the dehumidifier in a larger container like a bucket in case it spills. If it does, the solution that collects in the container is very slow to dry out.

Increase the pressure in the tyres about 5lb psi and move the car backwards and forwards a foot or so every month so the tyres don't develop "flat" spots...

Send back your tax disc to the DVLA and SORN it.

Top up and check the anti-freeze strength in the coolant.

Lubricate all the door/boot locks.

If you can, start the car, and let it run to operating temperature every month or so.

Connect the battery to an optimate.
