Hello all,

After quite literally years of searching for a mechanic/servicing centre I still haven’t found somewhere that I actually trust for a price which isn’t exorbitant. I've had some real nightmares stories in the last few years.

Whilst I know basic mechanics, I'm simply not qualified enough to pick up if mechanics are/are not doing things they should be during services, whilst this means I'm a rubbish pistonhead, I at least realise my limitations!

Can anyone suggest (and I know its personal preference and can't be guaranteed) any good service centres in the Essex area that people have had good experiences with?

I'm currently driving an Audi A6, but will be most likely moving to a 350Z or Z4M in the next month or so.

Cheers all.

Especially in Essex.

Have used AMD essex in Thurrock before (next to Ikea sadly) and they did a lovely job with my car at a good price. Thet also race a BTCC car which is often there to have a look about and the guys behind the desk know thier stuff and don't try to sell you crap you don't want or need. Had alignment done on mine - prime time to try and flog brakes, shocks and bushes etc on a 9 year old car but I had none of that at all.

The also specialise in VAG cars and remapping if you decide to hang on to the Audi.

I was going to suggest you visit 'BasVegas' on a Saturday night for a guaranteed servicing, but I think you might come away with more than you bargained for.

Anyway, there's a few places round my way that I can recommend. Wickford Garage for a good old fashioned cheap but reliable grease monkey service, or Westfield motors were good for when I had my Lexus (not sure if they service other jap marques).

Depends where you are in Essex but I use/Trust these guys, Especially for Audi as they were technicians there.

Had nothing but good service from them for all our cars.
