Best motorway cruizer/ Rocket ship/ Track car for 5 - 7 K
Discussion
Hello dear readers
I am currently on the lookout for a motor that would suit to be a daily driver and give me the umphh on the B roads.
things to concider :
... needs to be practical so a descent boot would be good ,
... not too fussed on fuel economy as it needs to be fast and nimble give me a grin
... my budget is around 5 to 7 grand
... I have some business over in bulgaria so i would be traveling every 5 or six months with the car so i will be doing quite long motorway journeys
... on the long run and servicing side im looking for a reliable motor which doesnt destroy my wallet when it comes to an anual service
... put a smile on my face
my heart is set on an evo 8 but i heard its a pain in the but to live with.. then my partner is suggesting an audi A8 3 liter diesel but i doubt it would be any good on fun roads haha
could you folks enlighten me with other options that i could choose from ?
thank you for your time

DENIED.I remember an episode of Fifth Gear where they drove to Poland in a BMW 6-Series, they said the most common car taken in a car jacking was a foreign registered BMW. With that in mind, is an M3 such a good idea if he is going to Bulgaria twice a year?
The OP mentioned an Evo 8. When you want to go to Bulgaria, depending on where you go (and how much you drive once you get there) you may have to service the car, do the 3-4,000 mile trip then it will be due another service when it gets back.

Are the servicing costs of an M5 that much more than an M3?
No, but then an M3 is hardly cheap, valve clearances at every inspection service means that they are both quite badly the wrong side of 500 quid unless you get it bodged by a backstreet place. Plus servicing is just the start, they like to bork as well.Serious money cars these. Sadly the cheaper they get the less this is appreciated by the typical buyer until its too late and yet another is ruined by a skinflint budget.
