HI,

just wondering,
I took the private plate off the wifes car and sold it as spares or repair before the updated v5 had arrived. The updated mot and tax disc have been sent to the new owner and he was given a full receipt and a photocopy of the old log book together with the yellow and green sections of the log book with the original registration on it before it was changed to the private plate.
I thought this would be fine as I would normally send off the main part of the log book to change to the new keepers name.
Now when the truck arrived in the dead of night to pick the car up it turned out it was a dealer buying the car. I have bought many cars from dealers, but never sold one back to one and just gave them all the paperwork.
The dealer is now kicking off as I should have given him the main part of the log book... which I have already said I will send on to him in a few days when it arrives.

do you think I am in the wrong here or is the guy just being an arse as he will have the log book in a few days anyway as soon as the updated on arrives?
There wasnt any change of keeper, just the private reg....

Doesn't matter what he says or thinks, there's nothing you can do about it anyway. He will have to wait til the V5 comes through.

he was blatantly trying to get money back, but on a few hundred quid spares or repair sale he has no chance..
