is paypal a safe way to accept payment for a car?

evening all
ive got a mk1 golf for sale at the moment and have reveived an email to buy the car at the full asking price, payment by paypal and collection by a delivery company. it seems too good to be true! I seem to remember reading about a paypal scam that showed that a payment was received and the money in the sellers account, the car released and then a few days later the money taken back as the payment was from a hijacked account.

is it safer to give bank account details?

any advice would be appreciated!

Ask for a bank transfer. They can and, by the sounds of it will, do a Paypal reversal claiming they don't have the car.

Its a SCAM! make sure you report their email to paypal afterwards so that paypal can hopefully deal with these tssers

in my experience I would 100% agree with this, with other methods there are too many 'ifs and buts', even bankers drafts can take 6 working days to clear so create needless stress

He sounds like a genuine offshore oceanographer to me. Don't know why people are so suspicious. I've dealt with Nick Carrs on many an occasion and he's as honest as the second is long.

The usual method they use is to send you an email that looks like its from PayPal claiming you've been paid however you need to pay the shipping company via a different method... As said earlier, if it sounds too good to be true...
