Is it just me, or have used prices taken a tumble?
Discussion
I was looking at auto trader a few weeks back, as always, just looking at used cars.
I've had another look tonight, and prices seem to be right down, compared to what i would expect. Is it just because we're approaching the end of the year, or am i just dreaming this?
I cant think of any really decent examples, however i found a 320 in red for less than 9 grand with reasonable mileage on. It was the 320SI model too. A very pretty engine if i do say so...

I'll say! Never thought I'd pay less than £8k for a 3 year old Alfa 147 Ducati Corse. 170 bhp and a lot of torque (it's a JTD diesel) with full leather interior, alloys that look like the set would easily have cost £2k. Only had 16k on the clock, too.
Crikey, that is cheap!TheAlfaMale said:

Nice one, pics needed. Come visit the Fiat/Lancia/Alfa room too if you've not already found it. http://pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&f...Dave Hedgehog said:
I suspect anything with a £460 tax disc and low 20s mpg is going to dive in the next 18 months in the lower end of the price sector, especially if petrol hits the £1.50+ mark
one of the reasons I unloaded the R32, whilst prices where pretty decent
My VXR8 returns about 12mpg - wont be selling any time soon. Been driving thristy V8's for longer than i care to remember. Oddly, fuel costs never seem to factor into things. Buying the right car for the right price and avoiding huge depreciation seems to outweigh any percieved saving on fuel in my case. one of the reasons I unloaded the R32, whilst prices where pretty decent
People think nothing of spending £30k on a car and watching it burn £450 a month in depreciation. I bought the VXR8 at a knock down price when we had the last scare on the economy and fuel price, in fact i've bought all my cars when people start filling thier pants over fuel prices - then 6 months later they forget all about it.

Im watching VXR8's at the moment. Most on auto trader have been on there for 12+ months and ive seen one drop at least 2k in the last 3 months.People think nothing of spending £30k on a car and watching it burn £450 a month in depreciation. So tempted for an E39 M5 to run as a daily, I only do 2 big trips a week, day to day I don't really need to drive.... Current steed is an E39 530d, love it so the M5 is a natural progression, but half of my current MPG takes my fuel bill from £80-100 a week to £160-200, a considerable jump...

Out of interest, what were the details and price of your R32?one of the reasons I unloaded the R32, whilst prices where pretty decent
I'm toying with the idea of buying one but, to me, their prices seem to be holding up.
