What are they like? Specifically Ingliston.

They're going rather cheap at the moment- http://www.giftexperiencescotland.com/driving-vouc...

It is very tempting but I'd only want to go if I could drive the cars properly. I've heard stories of people not being allowed to rev past X000rpm, are they all like that?

I used to run a 'Crap Cars Poor People Drive' expereince day.

Owners of Porsches, Lambos etc could ,for a fee, experiance driving cars like the 1996 Escort 1.8D, 1993 Renault Espace and others, around multistory car parks.

Never realy took off. rolleyes

I went on a Ferrari driving day years ago somwhere da'an saath. Got to drive a newish 360, 308 and was a passanger in an s2000. The only negative was the track was more like a karting track, and you only really got to 70mph on the straights before you had to slow down (and that was ragging it). Other than that it was a good day out.

I did a Lambo experience a couple of months back, the course was way too short, only got to do three laps, over in 5 minutes, so in all not a fantastic experience, it was fun to drive the Lambo, but just nowhere near enough track action to be worth the money or the time to get there or back.

General answer is go on a Palmer Sport day out if you really want to do an experience day.
I've done an R8, Ferrari 360 and a Gallardo experience.
Enjoyed them but probably won't do it again.

Saw a youtube video of a GTR on Ingliston and I have to say it is much smaller and narrower than I thought, not really a track.

I think it would be a wasted experience, Knockhill looks a better bet- shame they only have the 360 or V8V, no special offer price either.

I drove a Gallardo on one of Rockingham's inner circuits. I don't know if everyone gets the same treatment but my instructor just told me I could go as fast as I liked for as long as I listened to his instructions. I did exactly that and, as promised, I was never told to slow it down or up shift too early. I think it's an attitude thing; if you turn up looking and talking like a complete tool then they'll treat you as such.
