Please someone recommend me some gear knob glue/resin
Discussion
Merry Christmas all,
I've just tried fitting my new gear knob and due to the gear stick having had what appears to be 1/2 an inch sawn off the top the original doesn't fit on.
Old knob...

Half way there...

Ready to go on...

Doesn't fit so need to improvise...

New walking stick for me...

So question is what is the best stuff to use to fill the inside of the gear knob, that will bond with the rubber knob and metal gear stick?
Thanks,
Pest

Araldite. Just make sure it is straight because it won't be coming off again.
EDIT: Love the use of a lump hammer and the incredible mess you've managed to make
Thanks! Had to use a jig saw type thing in the end to hack the old knob off. My Dad cutting me holding and vice versa till we could get the chisel in to prise it off. We were lucky not to hack into one or other of us as there wasn't much space to play with, told my mum not to watch EDIT: Love the use of a lump hammer and the incredible mess you've managed to make

Easiest way is to get a new stick, they're not too hard to remove on 205s.
Or, you could bolster it with a piece of dowel inside the knob to replace the shaft that's been chopped down, and use as much araldite as humanly possible to bond it back on...

Have the dowel that is displayed as the walking stick. My Dad suggested bevelling it out and using that to fit in the knob and over thee gear stick.
