...dog carrier.

My current woof express is good but has some short comings. It's an R50 VW Touareg,DMS'd to 400bhp and quite a lot of torque but it is a pretty big old unit and my 3 SBTs tend to rattle around in the back whether they're in the boot or on the back seat and cos they've got short legs and one of them is getting on a bit the access height is becoming an issue. Plus Mrs S finds it a bit large and intimidating to drive and especially to park. So I want something to do the same job, be quick,as fun as a dog carrier can be but not massive size wise but not hatch size, that would be too small.
Budget is upto £35k, not bothered by fuel consumption (will do no more than 10/12k pa), ideally 3 years old max so I can continue manufacturers warranty. So far I've got 3 series touring (petrol, but would be ok with black stuff), S4 avant,C63 (but may struggle on budget),5 series touring, and recently found an E500 estate on a 2010 plate for less than budget....I've obviously gotta try some if not all and intend doing so asap but hoped that any dog owning PHers out there might give me the benefit of their experience.....?
Thanks in anticipation. Sagpack.
BTW,live well in the sticks so something that handles crappy B (and worse) roads would be best but not hung up on 4 wheel drive.

Doh! Started the thread on mobile and could swear that the thread title was there but when I pressed submit it wasn't! What a prat. Is there any way I can re-insert the title? Help! frown

I am in the secret thread!

Is a VW Toerag really much bigger than a 5-series estate?

It's a lot higher off the ground but I take your point and that's why I'm looking for input. A 5 series would probably be as big but a lot easier for the woofers to get in and out of without me having to pick them up and take them down or risk them hurting themselves jumping down.

BTW, does anyone know where all the symbols above come from because I definitely didn't put them in the post? All I input was the £35k. Cheers

Are you posting on a phone? Some websites don't like it when phone users use symbols, usually apostrophes get turned into question marks and other such fun.

Maybe a Volvo estate of some description. Nice interiors and some of the new ones are looking very attractive.
