What a PITA to remove! Trying to get it out of the track car before painting the inside. People suggest heat and scrape - doesn't really seam to work, or cup brush on an angle grinder - works after a while, but turns it into something akin to cotton candy that festoons the rest of the car.
I would leave it, but have found a few patches of rust so think its for the best. I suppose the rust would be a lot worse without it.
Anyway, I was going to use some waterproof mastic to redo it. Is this OK, and should it be done under or over paint?
Also any tricks to removing the original stuff from someone who's done it?
