Hi all
Just a question of where I stand really.
I bought a renault megane (yes i know!!) Just under a year ago from a large used car dealer.
Fast forward to today where I want to part ex it for a civic type r and get told that it is an import!
It was imported about a month before I bought it but it has age related (58) plates.
When I bought it the dealer didn't say it was an import and it didn't say so in the advert.
Do I have any comeback with the dealer? I have not called them yet but will do tomorrow.
Any information would be good.

Is the car UK spec? If yes then you don't have any comeback really, since the importation isn't material. If not then you probably do.

Could be fun with your insurers, this one, if the car has been imported by a non-Renault-approved party they might have had something to say about it.

I don't know about Renault, but warranty cover can differ depending where it is first sold by the manufacturer.

EG a manufacturer might offer 1 year in Europe or 3 years here. That cover is offered and paid for by the distribution organisation in the original sales country, so an import may not be covered here the same as a UK car.

I had a grey import Clio 172 and made numerous warranty claims up to the three year point.
