There can't be more than 20 left?

I drove one about 12 years ago, maybe more. Obviously it wasn't a Mercedes but it was better than a Lada Riva!

Good luck for the test!

Did you really pay £500 for it?!

I remember a mates dad had one, started rusting through after about 2 yrs old!

A local taxi driver had one years ago. The only memorable thing about it was the weird gearlever position.

Good luck with the MOT smile

Had a Riva at 17, gud car that, except it regularly broke down. Never got to the bottom of it and it went to the scrappy. I want another. Yes i paid 500 for the FSO, and more to bring it home smile dare I ask about the Vaseline?

I like quirky cars I guess is the answer, esp. the Polonez and it was too rare an oppertunity to miss. I was planning on catching a flight to Poland and importing my own. The £500 London one made things much more straightforward

But there are lots of cheap quirky cars which are nowhere near as crap! So why the FSO? Purely down to rarity?

No i just wanted a Polonez. In school when me mates were raving on about E30 BMs and Chavalier SRIs i was like: FSO lol. So i have one now. Also a Talbot Samba Convertible, an 82 XR3 and a Monza GSE. My next want is a Sierra Cosworth

What's it got under the bonnet? IIRC late ones had a 1.4 Rover K Series in RWD, I always wondered what one with a 1.8 Turbo with the boost wound up would be like.

For the noise if nothing else

There is something to be said about under dog cars and their appeal - I also want an allegro

God I had one of those back in 1999 - MOT cost 2x Car Price to get it through.

Good luck smile.

Its an '84 - has FSO stamped on the block, so FSOs take on an old Fiat design. Plenty of K series ones in Poland. FSO themselves did a 2.0 Turbo version for motorsport. There is a Lancia Stratos mid engined one on youtube wa wa wee waa!

Lancia delta/fiat coupe 2.0 16v twink turbo is a direct swap if I recall correctly
