Badly proportioned cars
Discussion
Having just seen the wonder that is the Buick Reatta in the PH classifieds, I began to wonder how some designs get signed off at all. The front overhang on this is so out of keeping with the rest of the design, that I cannot imagine anyone with eyes would think it looked good.

It's not just this oddity that I find woefully unbalanced and badly proportioned. Now, I'll don my flamesuit, but the Lancia Fulvia (which many cite as a wonderful piece of design) is again to my eyes, way to front end focused and out of keeping with the lite design of the rest of the car.

Anyone else have examples of even more badly proportioned designs?

Would never ever have had the Fulvia on this list. It just isn't!!
How can people not see it!? The Fulvia has a petit derriere, slim sides, a big blocky glass house plonked on top, and a leaning forward stance because it looks like the entire car is weighed down by a front end that's two sizes too big.Funny that the 5 series GT and Austion Maxi where mentioned - both appear to be similar concepts, and proof that it doesn't work

That bonnet badge in the background of your pic is a bit too large mind you!! Funny that the 5 series GT and Austion Maxi where mentioned - both appear to be similar concepts, and proof that it doesn't work

The lights on the Fulvia are large, I'll give you that. I don't think they make it a badly proportioned car though - it just gives it a slightly more aggressive look for me. Bit like putting all the driving lights on the front of an old Austin Mini Cooper S.

Looks like an MX5 coupe to me....
The Peugeot 407 is a total mong of a car. Bonnet too long, and it has that stupid gaping mouth, the roof line is too high and totally misshapen towards the rear and the boot is to short and high. Offensive pretty much whichever way you look at it.
Another one I will nominate are countless American cars. I know they value ride comfort, but you can have a soft, pliant ride without needing suspension like the car is on stilts. Here is a picture of an offender.

Why do so many American cars have wheels that look totally lost in the arches? The whole "Staunce, Y0" thing is getting ridiculous, but a few inches of lowering would do this car a world of good.

BMW 1 series, looks like they stopped designing it upon hitting the rear window
I think it's a pretty good looking design tbh.
Nice long bonnet, and fairly classic FR styling overall. Maybe the side swage line detailing is a bit poorly thought out, but overall, I like the proportions. Better than most other contemporary hatches where the slope of the bonnet is nigh on the same as that of the windscreen
