Love cars that are a bit different. it is along the same lines as the PK Jimp. That I managed to reasearch a fair bit about it and speak to mr PK, build a website put some owners in touch etc. Buy one... The YAK always draws a blank. Theres one in a museum close to where they were built. Someone bought one in the 80s, someone ran the factory, worked for the company etc. I would be interested to hear from them

My mates dad got one in for scrap we drove it round his field all summer long as kids, had a XR3 1600 engine and we kept burning ourselves on the exhaust which ran up the roof. Good fun. Can stil smell the sweet smell of clutch burning!

It's a rare and ugly beast; I think the economics of this kind of thing were always marginal, although the Africar probably held more promise being intended for partial local manufacture rather than just kit assembly. The Africar project fell apart due to unkept promises didn't it?
