New years what car.

As usual another what car thread, it's going to be the first car of some actual 'want' from my POV, first car was a 1.2 punto & currently i own a Scenic, (needed 5 actual seats), although the need for 5 actual seats has diminished some what & therefore 5 seatbelts is enough, the only other stipulations are 30-35MPG around town, the Scenic is returning around 30 at the moment & don't really want to go any lower than that, it needs to have a bit of 'poke'. Budget up to £6k tops.
Current cars being considered, Alfa GT Coupe 1.9JTD - theres something about this car that just gives me a semi (although it's not the quickest i don't really care).
Fiesta ST - I like the prices of these a lot!
Type R - I was considering an 04 sort of age one but the fuel consumption does hold me back a bit on i.
BMW - I don't want one of these.
Other than that i'm open to any makes / models, although i'd like it to be a no olde than an 04 really!
Insurance should'nt be too much of an issue as i'm over 25 now & have a couple of years NCB under my belt.
I did see a 207 GTI yesterday (2008) model, thich did look pretty smart inside, bu it was only 4 seats!
