This looks like a cheap 'caddy', decent mpg, reasonable miles for a diesel

Personally I couldn't think of much worse, but that's just me.

I've always thought these make fantastic second-hand buys. Parts availability of Saab & Vauxhall, but a bit different to look at and dirt cheap. Win-win-win smile If I was in that part of the market for a family car I would give one serious consideration.

Wouldn't buy one new though, if only due to the depreciation laugh

Don't like the looks of those at all. Aren't they just a Saab anyway?

I love Caddy's, but glad the BLS fell flat on it's face. Insult to the brand.

Personally I'd rather have its Saab 9-3 cousin. Not a bad looking car though...

It is basically a Vectra C with a better interior and a better badge. Nothing wrong with that at all, I would imagine they depreciate quite badly so could be a bargain for someone who doesn't care about driving a "rubbish" Cadillac smile

I would avoid that engine though, the 1.9 CDTI 150 threw up a lot of issues in the Vectra.

Such a high-spec car it even has cloth on the seats ...

Surely this is an insult to the Cadillac brand?

The BLS is a munter. Not their worst effort by some stretch, but still woeful.

I'd rather drive cattle.

Indeed. I seem to remember reading that the bigger, RWD CLS was a much better steer.

I believe there are issues with the BLS, not least of which is dedicated software that the absence of Cadillac dealers makes an issue.

I confess I saw a silver estate a year or so back and it is a better looking beast in that guise than the 9-3 but the CLS is a far better car overall.

There was a recent 2007 new-shape, low mile CLS 3.6 for £12995 on Autotrader. I would have been very tempted to part-ex the Mondeo save for the £430-odd VEL every year which I can dismiss as an affordable expense in theory but know how much it would smart every time I had to cough it up. In comparison, taking it 200 miles to Manchester to get it serviced every year is a relative bargain.
