I think i only like cars that let small amounts of light in.

A couple of years ago i had a 2007 Vectra estate. Rear and side windows were heavily tinted (except front doors) and it was pretty dark inside. Despite its size, it always felt really cozy and nice.

It's something my mondeo, with no windows tinted, doesnt offer (although i think saloons look daft with just the rear windows tinted anyway).

I got into a new mondeo the other day, and that was quite dark when i looked towards the back and didnt seem to let much light in.

It just makes it feel more cozy. I've had a look in some coupes and its just like being outside... far too bright.

Anyone else like this, or am i just a complete nutter? Also, suggestions for any cars of this nature would be nice biggrin

Sounds like you need a Sirocco.

Its basically all metal with a slit for viewing whats infront of you.

A chopped '34 hot rod would suit you too, it has even less space.

OP, really?

Completely the opposite. For me, the more glass the better. Even to the point that if the pillars are too thick, bottoms of windows too high or even wipers too thick, ill start getting annoyed by the car.

OP: Buy a van.

I agree with Sparkybean- much prefer there to be plenty of light in the cabin. A 911 is a much more pleasant place to be than a Boxster/Cayman, despite the front of the cabin being near-identical- it's the extra light coming through the rear windows that does it- much less claustrophobic.

I completely understand. I find it more comforting to drive in a low lit cabin. Even better when they have a black roof lining yes

I drive a mr2 with the rear windows tinted

I always have both of my sun visors down. I hate the amount of light when I put them up and I don't really need to see the sky anyway.

So basically, I agree with the OP smile

the rear of an Alfa Giulietta would suit you..after a few miles in that recently I felt sick for the first time in a car. The all black interior and high waistline with little slit windows, not a nice place to be..

..indeed I am the polar opposite..I love my RR because of the expanse of glass and the sunroof. I generaly only buy Convertibles or cars with sunroofs and even when buying a Defender I look for the rare one with a glass roof. I have always loved Discos largely because of the twin sunroofs..

on the subject of blacked out windows, limos and RRs look okay if thats your kinda thing but I have seen all sorts of mundane Hatchbacks and Coupes with heavy tints in recent years and it looks absoloutely abysmal in my opinion..not enough Rozzers on the road as I have seen so many tools with illegal 'innit bruv' front tints around 'Ali G stylee scruffy suburban Sarf-Landan' recently

I can't stand the sunroof blind thingy being open, but other than that I'm not too much of a vampire.

Piepiepie you would have loved my pickup. This was before the rules about light levels inside a car came into being

Our Focus has paedo-tints, great in the summer, a right pain in the 'arris to reverse park at night.
